What happened to you today :)

Just thought I'd start a random chat so maybe people can write about what happened in their life ... I know I always wanna tell people the pointless rubbish I did in the day, but have nobody to tell & I'm bored so xD...

Today, about 7 ramshorn snail egg blobs hatched... so I have loads of TINY snails. I really thought they'd be bigger! They're about 1mm.
I got a new Iphone which I love at the moment, been adding pointless apps all day...one is a game called blowfish if anyones got an Iphone, seriously go get this.. it's free and so fun to play the puffers have such cute faces!
I pre-ordered twilight new moon DVD (yup I'm sad I know, I followed the "every teen girl loving twilight" thing but I can't help it ) I love the books too, only a tiny bit of the last one to go before I'm finished!
Our female kitten went into heat for the first time, she's 1 today and being spayed on tuesday, I'm SO worried. She's so tiny I hope it goes ok.
My puffer ate some shelled prawn, my tortoise tried hay for the first time... wow I have a boring life xD haha.
Going to go tidy up and do a water change now!

I did the anaesthesia for a dog & 3 cats that were in for castration & a cat in for spaying! Your little cat will be fine, I'm sure. A fairly routine operation.
Then on the way home I watched a Sparrowhawk hunt & catch a wood pigeon in the high street. They landed right on the pavement on the other side of the road to me! Incredible to see a bird of prey in action like that!

I got my PC lighting working properly and I also finally found out that I am getting a house that I been trying for. The new house has an extra bedroom that the wife is allotting to me for the fish and I will also have a two and a half car garage for the and the motorcycle. Today has been a great Friday!I hope everyones is going just as well!

Aww L!$A I hope your knee is better soon! but that's great that you get a lovely new baby puffer ^_^ and Jax that's awesome, I can't wait to have my own house... no rules woohoo haha.
And thanks bigfatfish we have 2 male cats, 1 who had to be cut open because he hadn't "matured" let's say... and the other who was neutered normally and they where both fine, it's always just a bit worrying though

I wish I could add something interesting to this thread .... as everyone sounds like they are having good times (except for Lisa's knee, sorry Lisa) .... but I've been suffering with a very bad tummy since Tuesday when I stupidly ate at McDonald's. The pain I've had is incredible and I've had to push myself out of bed to do maintenance on my tanks. It's days like these that I wish I had a stand-in to do maintenance for me.

Aww pufferpuggirl that's bad I hope you feel better soon.
I always eat mcdonald's but I remember once I got a milkshake to try (known to be about 99% bacteria) and ended up really ill and had to go to hospital with infections.
Now everytime someone tries to order a milkshake or ice cream from there my whole family gives them the bacteria lecture xD

I had a great day. First it was my birthday so I decided to treat myself to a spa day. I had an advanced facial with mircoderm abrasion, an hour massage and a pedicure. To top that off, just before leaving I got a call with a job offer. I was shocked as I thought I totally bombed on the interview.
My lucky blue suit strikes again.

Congrats I wish I could get a job haha because I've never worked before most places won't even consider me. It's silly, everyone has to start somewhere.

How about applying at a LFS or pet supply store? That would be a fun place to work, and one where you have relevant experience. I manage a pet supply store and most of my part-timers are young and haven't had jobs before. I immediately give preference to applicants that stress their pet experiences, even unpaid. (You could even offer to volunteer for a couple of months as a foot in the door? I know a local store that allows that, we don't due to insurance issues.)

I'm not going to ask for any details or pm you because you sound young.

This might sound like a daft idea but have you tried 'Connexions' - there's one in most towns. They can help you with your CV etc and even, I think help place you somewhere. There's loads of places like that. Job centre plus is depressing - I've been in there in the past and it seems so apathetic it's death on a stick for work...

I'm trying to help place my stepsons girlfriend somewhere and it's a nightmare...

Agencies seem so - 'lets register you and then nothing'.

There will be somewhere, somewhen a weird set of circumstances that gets you foot in the door of whatever career, so don't despair please!

After uni I ended up being the post boy and proffessional pencil sharpener for a firm of Acturaries for nine months when I held a BSc in Pure Chemstry - hey it payed the bills

Oil industry, B&Q, fridge warehouse, receptionist - I've done it all

My point is don't despair, keep trying and something will turn up.

Even if you have to become a student!

I tried that CarmenH ..sadly our lfs and pet stores etc all around me "need" animal care qualifications.. and theres no animal care course at any college within 3 hours of me.. + I can't drive! haha It's funny how they say that though and then their employees try to sell me rainforest bulbs for a desert tortoise >_<.
That's quite annoying because I own rabbits and long hair guinea pigs and long hair cats and a tortoise, puffer etc so know a lot about animals, grooming etc.. probably more than some of them!
I also know a lot about computers and phones etc, and my local t-mobile phone shop has a job.. yet they won't even interview me because I've not worked before.
And yep soggydrysuit I actually went to both connexions and the job center... connexions ended up trying to get me in the army! I'm a girl who did beauty therapy in college.. so ran a mile.
And the job center just told me to phone some number, it was also full of weirdo's in there so I didn't stay long either xD
I'm just trying to look out for jobs in windows at the minute and applying if I see any but I don't even get any interviews, just lots of emails saying I need experience to work in their shop etc.

Sounds frustrating, especially when you know the staff is NOT as on the ball as you! I wish you were close, I'd offer you a job...you seem much sharper than my current crew...
