mapa puffer problem

i just got a mapa puffer on monday everything has been fine eating well and getting used to the tank until i came home last night and he appeared to have puffed up a bit in his stomach area it went down overnight but is still slightly swelled this mourning is there anything i can do or should do or will it just go away thanks for any help

yes tank is cycled it is 8 months old tank is 250 gallons and all peramiters checked good just looks puffed a bit now none of the other fish have any problems the has 3 eels and 2 lions as tankmates

Were the Lionfish there before you got the puffer? There was a topic a few days ago about them being protective of the fish they grew up with, and not allowing new tank mates. Is it possible your Mappa is being harrassed? As well the tank may be too small for all of those fish together. Mappas need at least a 250g alone.

yes lions were there first the mapa is only like 6 inhes and they really keep to themselves they swim together and rerely even get near the puffer

Sounds like your puffer might have just ate too much.

Do you have lots of isopods in the sand? Tucker, the GSP who was too mean to Shakespeare and got rehomed with Eileen(Yunachin), would swallow a lot of sand with his ispods compared to Shakespeare and Jilly.

i hope he just ate to much. If he did swallow to much sand will he expell this on his own
