Yay!

It is absurd to talk of one animal being higher than another. We consider those, when the cerebral structure/intellectual faculties most developed, as highest. A bee doubtless would when the instincts were.

I looked them up, they would be nice for sure, maybe when I get my job sit sorted out, but for now the ones I have are doing to good a job, I have the temp
on them set to 79, and the water temp is sitting at 86, I am doing a WC tonight, I am gonna turn them down a bit more, and see if I can get the temp to drop a bit.

I was wondering if you still have to do 50% weekly water changes even though the tank is so large?

Re: SAMSON IS HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
50% changes weekly would certainly bring up the water bill, that's if you pay for water in ON. I'm lucky being on a well.

Re: SAMSON IS HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I would hate to know what kind of utility bill I'd have. I use a python and in order for it to work, the water needs to be running. So, if I do a 30% water change on my 120 gallon, I'm probably really doing 70% with the water running, not to mention replacing the 30% filling it up again.
Then I do the same thing with the 25 gallon. I sometimes worry the well will run dry.

Re: SAMSON IS HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Some people have been able to have the suction remain after the tap has turned off as long as you've started siphoning. Unfortunately that does not work for me. Others also run the water into a basement sink and don't need water for that.
You can give it a try and see if either one of those work for you.

Re: SAMSON IS HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can try turning off the tap once it's syphoning but I think it will just stop and not clean the gravel as well due to the lack of suction. I tried using it on a tank I was emptying downstairs, even with the water running it didn't work for beans. You definitely need to be on the same floor or a floor above I'm guessing. I love using the pythong, I can't imagine using a bucket for my large tank.
