Re: Recent FTS
I am lucky enough to have a photographer in our local reef club who is always looking for cool subjects to photograph. He's Free!
I dose at night, because that's when I do my top offs & it's just easier to remember to do the dosing at the same time. If I remember in the morning, I dose any extra tsp of VC.
I have no idea about the flow. What do you mean, "On my 90g AGA RR tank there is no way a return pump alone could handle it"? Everything (tank, stand, canopy, sump & pump) came used. I had Hubby plumb in the fuge separately & the Seaswirl on top of the tank. He also installed the lighting.
(back to front):
Reef Blue (very blue!)
6000K Midday Giesmann
2x Reef Blue
Pure Actinic + (pink)
Actinic +
The 2 in the middle are the bluest & are on 9am-11pm. The brighter front & back 4 are on 11am-9pm. As soon as all the lights are out, the moonlights go on.
This is my 3rd copperband. The other 2 starved to death--didn't even eat aptasia. This one eats live blackworms, soaked in Selcon & Vita-Chem.

Re: Recent FTS
What I mean is that my overflow, can not handle more than 600gph, so my return is dialed back some (of a mag9.5). The flow rate is not enough to alone keep even soft corals happy. Currently I have one koralia 4 behind the rocks and 4 maxijet 1200s on a red sea wave master pro. Thats why I am asking, obviously you have plenty of flow if the corals look that good. I love the look of no powerheads, and would love to run just a return pump on a oceansmotions, but there is no way that would be enough flow.Pufferpunk wrote:I have no idea about the flow. Any suggestion on moon lights? My canopy is jam packed with T5s, the miro4 reflectors make it so that there is no room between the bulbs, and very little on the sides, same setup as you 6-54watt T5 over a 90g, DIY large canopy.
Either way, thanks and keep up the killer tank.

Can you post a pic of your canopy with the lights?
Can you cut out every other slot in your overflow?

Re: Recent FTS
I dont have any pics currently, Ill try and get some, the tank is currently covered because I am paint the house today, still working on the home remodel, its a late lunch break right nowPufferpunk wrote:Can you post a pic of your canopy with the lights?

AGA tanks have a 1" and 3/4" holes, currently I have the 1" setup as a stockman standpipe (pretty much same concept as a durso), and the 3/4" as a open fail safe, so the only way to increase turn over that I am aware of is to make the 3/4" a full siphon, but I would lose the failsafe.
Either way lunch break over...

Gwendolyn seemed to die from urchin spikes in her. Never would have thought something like that could happen.

They're all from the same tank. Most are macro shots. I had a photographer take them for me.
