Baby Fahaka Incoming
Went to my LFS this afternoon and they had some Irrubesco, Dwarfs and then I spotted 2 baby Fahakas and they were cheap. Both were in excellent condition and about 2" in size. One was darker and more timid but the other was very active with nice markings. So 10 minutes of trying to talk myself out of it was an epic fail so I paid for it. PIcking it up the weekend after next. Forgot to get a pic in the shop will post some up when hes settled in. Never seen them that size for that price. Gonna put him in a 50 gallon for now and then move him into the 90 gallon.

They said they'd had a few in a couple of weeks ago so looks like its the season for them from distributors.

Re: Baby Fahaka Incoming
Aquarium Glaser in Germany (either the largest or one of the largest and MOST FAMOUS wholesalers in the world) had them in. That's where my two are sourced from.
My guess is they probably sold a lot worldwide. Other possibility is the suppliers in Africa had a field day finding spawns/schools of fry in the wild, collected them and raised them to a better size and sold the crap out of them.
Not a bad thing though! Puffers are awesome...

Picked him up a few hours ago. After a tentative start he's settling in nicely. Went very aggressive in the bag and then just sat there looking dead but 30 mins after he was released into the tank he was swimming around happily. Managed to get a video and a couple of good pics. I'll post them up shortly.

Ahhh the Delhezi, im at a loss why that vids had over 2000 views, I dont thinkits got the best markings compared to some ive seen but in terms of character hes frigging awesome. My ornate however is stunning but extremely dull only comes out from his log when its feeding time and then disappears again, quite an achievement now hes about 18"

Re: Baby Fahaka Incoming
Yes thats me. Yes the one you got was a little darker when I chose mine but they both looked in great condition. Nice to hear its come out with its stripes when I got mine home it went dark almost identical to what yours was in the shop but now hes had some time to settled in I can see his stripes have come back. Im looking forward to seeing how these 2 grow up and what they turn into as adults. Heres hoping for some stunning looking Fahakas.
