Puffers vs Mantis Shrimp

Post by j_wishbone »

Hi guys

I think I know the answert to this ..

but what are your thoughts on mixing Puffers and Mantis Shrimps

I have a dog face thats around 10cm and about to pick up a Mantis thats around 5-7cm

will that mantis just become an expensive snack to the Dog Face .... or if not

will I never see this mantis and just hide forever in the rockwork...

and the other option is.. I have a smaller puffer (a banded puffer) around 5-6 cm (different tank of course)

will that get hurt (or even eaten) by the mantis or will he just make a snack out of the Mantis as well??

what do you guys think? or have any of you had any experience mixing puffers and mantis' together???

Expensive snack. If a spearer, it could do damage to the puffer. If a smasher, expect it to fight back & possibly harm the puffer. Either way, the shrimp will not make it--without a fight.

Yeah that seems a bit risky to me, I wouldn't try it :)

Some of us talk about "thrive versus survive" - a Roman Colosseum exhibition is an entirely separate sort of display on a par with bear-baiting and dog-fighting or betta-fighting. Not even suited as a topic for discussion on a hobby forum IMHO.
