Good brackish substrate?

I'm sick of my white gravel in my F8 tank. I've still got a brown hair algea problem but its better. Would argonite do anything beneficial?

It will keep your pH up & stable, around 8.

Algae is a light and nutrient issue.

i got a new bulb that's 50% blue and stopped feedi g cube food. Changed my timer so the light is on less.

Defrost/rinse the food cubes off in a brine shrimp net. The juice it's in contribute nutrients to the tank. Are you feeding a varied diet?
