Stock Ideas for my Puff Tower!

Post by puffer_starter »

I'm setting up what I call the Puff Tower. It will be a 29gal on top of a 20gal. I want to do both tanks as fresh water. I would love some stock ideas from you guys.

maybe one red eye puff in the 20gal and 6 or 7 dwarf puffs for the 29gal? its hard to reccomend puffs without knowing what your have available... cause its ridiculous to buy fish online... so it all falls on what you have readily available to you. i would call all your LFS within like 50 miles & see what they have... then go from there... cause u cant get anything if they dont have it. also, talk with the people who order the fish, sometimes they will tell you to call back the day they get their fish list & then can special order something for you... i personally wouldnt have anything smaller than a 40gal for a puffer... thats just my preference though cause i dont really like small puffers (other than dwarfs theyre cute)... but puffs that get 3" or less i dont really care too much for.

BTW, is your bottom tank going to be close to the ground? if so you have to keep gravity in mind for when you do your siphoning... just a thought

I order the fish. I get the stock list's. Right now nothing is off limits.I have seen a little bit of everything and can get the actual vendors to do some looking for me so I'm not that worried about fining things. And for the right puffer I can wait for them to show up. As for the gravity issue I have taken that into consideration. The bottom tank will be high enough to accommodate it. I still have yet to build the stand. Thanks for thinking of that though because not a lot of people would notice.

My husband said the same thing.."That looks too much like a regular fish"

It is not so much about the "look/body shape" although I LOVE the yellow...it is the personality I want...plus they are on the small side and they are FW.
