Alright guys I have a BW 1.015 with 3 GSP anyways I took out my gravel and swapped it for aragonite and now Im wondering as Im making my way to full marine how I should add the live rock
B/c of the puffers already being in there? Can I add it B4 fully making it to 1.023 sg and how to safely do it B/c i doubt Ill be able to keep it wet on the way home( about 15 min. from LFS ad I don't want stuff dead when it goes in). Remember I have zero saltwater XP and would love any suggestions. Even what kind of rock serves best etc. Also Im wondering if I can get away with my HOB filters while I build my sump. My tank Isn't drilled and I want a overflow. Any places to buy a HOB overflow?? ? or even a complete thing with a sump too? idk I mean I've seen some DIY's but I want it to be a clean looking setup and not hackie. Also a friend suggested not getting a Protein Skimmer and told me build an "algae scrubber" do any of you any XP with one. Especially Before the substrate swap I was beginning to brown algae everywhere and I want it gone before it gets out of hand. My temp doesn't go above 77 for the fear of it coming back all over my new sand. The "DIY Algae scrubber" supposedly does what a protein skimmer does but like in a natural less mechanical way...IDK..i did read online that clams can cause algae is that true B/C I do feed them often. NE ideas or suggestions are greatly appreciated thanks again Puffer-Forum.
water parameters are in check with weekly WC although the hardness of the water is always a little bitter higher than tests read.
PH steady 8
