I don't bother with kH for FW fish. Just my reef tanks. I was more concerned about keeping a single adult angle in a 20g tank.

As far as the Pleco goes it is a "bull dog" aka rubber nose aka wide mouth. Not rare.

Gah, Angel fish.. people forget they are cichlids and aggressive. Keep an eye on it that it doesn't terrorize your other fish and research its full grown size, most people have no idea how big those things can get (HUGE).

Both angels and gouramis are somewhat aggressive fish that like to pick fights with other larger, colorful fish, so you might have a problem there.. the angel will almost guaranteed kill the gourami if they do start going at it.

I have seen mollies hit the 6" mark, females especially get quite large if kept healthy and in proper water conditions. Most of time though they breed out of control and the tanks are routinely overstocked, with poor water quality as a result. A full grown sailfin molly is a beautiful sight.

For the pleco, definitely try to verify the ID. There are very very few species of plecos that stay that small.. the only one that I have seen commercially is a dwarf bristlenose and you generally don't find them in stores, only in the private breeding trade (I had a pair a few years back that I picked up at a convention). Regular bristlenoses and rubbernoses (bulldog) are considered "small" and even those grow to 6-8". Considering there are literally thousands of pleco species, it could be just about anything.

Sorry for the loss of your puffers.. but definitely use it as a learning experience and keep up those water changes for these new fish

Ok, thats the thing though! I did do research, all throughout the internet. I read how angelfish are semie-aggressive and how gouramis are also semi-aggressive but that when put with fish of the same temperament that there shouldn't be a problem. Right now, it's the mollies that seem to be chasing everyone away, which is why I'm not so sure I'm going to keep them. I thought I had done a lot of research to where if got some I'd be ok. There's so many different answers to the questions that I ask, that I just go for it and hope for the best, which luckily so far with any fish I've had, I have done fairly well. And yes, the puffers do count because they lived for about a yr up until my stupid butt put algae eater in there.

I would think gouramis are better since they are somewhat small (dwarf gouramis at least). Angelfish have been known to tear tetras apart.

I personally would rate angel fish as a bit more than "semi aggressive" especially once they are mature.

Dadof4: What the heck!!! Why couldn't someone at the LFS tell me that they were brackish fish? I did not want anymore brackish fish at the moment. I'm so irritated. I never knew they were brackish and I, as well, have had them before. Maybe that's why I never seen them get anymore than 3-4 in, because I've always kept them in FW. Now I know. What should I do now? Take them back, or just keep them in the FW?? Please tell me that angelfish, and gouramis are not BW. Even though I've also taken care of both, over the years, I'd still like to know, because I didn't know about the mollies before.

All right, don't you know by now never to trust a LFS? Seriously, though, don't trust them! ALWAYS do bookoos of your own research beforehand, and follow the advice given on this forum.
