SAPs and Farlowella

I'm guessing it can be done but thought I'd ask to be certain. Should a farlowella be able to coexist with SAPs? I haven't done much research on them but time is limited right now so I thought I'd ask before I spend a few hours not doing school work.

They do have that long, flowing dorsal & caudal fin.

The big ones do, although they are more properly called Stusistoma, many shops (including the one where I got mine) label them Royal Farlowella. In a species tank, 50 gal US, fine sand shallow substrate, three medium potted swords,the male's tail filaments were as long as his body,the female's a bit less. The big guys do not like as much current either. The smaller ones I would risk with SAPs in a well-planted tank. Those tend to be white-water fish, where the biggies are blackwater. With the broadleaf/larger leaf stems or with a lot of tallish Java Fern (not biotope) they should work okay.

I don't know the actual species. They aren't the fancier ones though. They're the ones Petsmart always has, I think it lists them as growing to 6".

Here is the most recent picture of the tank. It's pretty heavily planted, just waiting for the new plants to root and grow upwards. There's a few more plants in the tank that were on the filter intake when this was taken



ETA: The filter plant count is currently at 11. Getting these things to stay in with such a strong current is difficult for the first week or two.
