hello
my fish are currently in a 30g( f8's mollies, platties) and i am buying a 55g tank off CL tomorrow.
i am going to upgrade the fish into the 55g and was wondering the best way to go about this
the fish will be moved into a smaller temporary tank that is fully cycled for the time being
my main question is i plan on moving all the sand/crushed coral from the 30g to the 55 along with all the ornaments and the 2 filters on the 30g now(as well as the 500gph filter the tank comes with) and all the water from the 30g
will the tank essentially be cycled since it has all the stuff from the 30g which is fully cycled and should be covered in all sorts of beneficial bacteria? or will i need to do something else?(if so i will wait to move them and get dr. tims or biospira) but i think it should be ok right?
thanks
oh also if you have any tips for getting all the sand out that would be great
switching tanks- want to do it right
