oops :( DP question

i grew some brine shrimp for my Booger.... i didnt realize it said to drain off the water because there is salt that helps them hatch.... after i added some of the hatchlings i read that... i did a water change, will she be okay? is it marine salt they come in or is it aquarium salt that comes with the brine shrimp hatchlings? (i just went back to the store today and realized they have frozen brine shrimp hatchlings... go figure, i wouldnt have had to be worried about it had i looked in the freezer section)

I really doubt that you've harmed her by allowing a little salty water into their tank, however brine shrimp water is usually very salty, saltier than marine water in fact. As long as you did a decent size water change, you should be fine. Plus a tiny bit of salt is not going to hurt anyone.

Who knows what kind of salt they use, I've never heard one way or another.

I've heard that you can use either kind. It was probably aquarium salt, since that's cheapest.

whew! well i did about 75-80% WC.... i was just worried it might have been marine salt since i have no idea where brine shrimp come from.... but hopefully all goes well!

Not often would LFS use real marine mix for brine shrimp, too $. Lobster salt at the best. Table salt most likely, maybe with a bit of bicarb added. But it is dirty water in any case, not something you want in your tank.
