GSP hiding

Hey all,

I've had my 2 gsps for about 4 months now and the tank is pretty stable and they seem healthy. One of them is usually swimming around or resting somewhere on the bottom, but the other one is almost always inside a fake log that i have in my tank. He's not on the bottom he's just hovering inside the middle of it. When he comes out he turns nice and white and although he doesn't eat quite as easily as the other puffer he definitely eats. I usually only see him swimming around if i wake up in the middle of the night (my tank is at the foot of my bed). Is he just a shy little guy or is there something i should do to help him? Thanks!

Has he always displayed this behavior? I've owned a few GSPs and their personalities can differ greatly. I have one now that could care less if I paid attention to him or not. My last GSP loved for me to set next to the tank and "hangout" with him. It may just be what he likes to do.

Well i had a lot of problems with cycling during the first 2 months i had my tank but since those were resolved i would say yes he has always displayed the same behaviour, and the exact same thing happens with my puffers if i sit right beside the tank when im reading or on the computer they come out and see whats going on! I was also thinking that he may stay in the log as a territorial thing and that maybe if a bought another structure he could hide in his behaviour might chnge

I'm wondering if the other one is picking on him, when you're not looking? How large is the tank? Can you post a pic of the tank with the decor?

Its a 30 gallon and they're both about 2 inches long, here's a pic
