as some have said - the real fish stores dont have that much much knowledge unless they are specialists in a specific type of fish they will only know what they need to make sales - - - its shocking really .

Your best off getting the advice you need from here and others - then going and getting what you need and not what they want to sell you

Haha.

Hint hint, nudge nudge ;)
It is absurd to talk of one animal being higher than another. We consider those, when the cerebral structure/intellectual faculties most developed, as highest. A bee doubtless would when the instincts were.

Have you decided to keep them. Everyone that commented is right, they awesome pets with so much personality.

This reminds me of when I got my GSP. When I mentioned snails at the store and if they had any to feed him/her, he said he had no idea they ate snails. Good thing I did some reading beforehand. I'm now trying to breed and raise snails but I think my guppies are eating them, grrrr.

On a side note, man they can EAT ALOT!!!!!!

hello Puffer owner :)
beautiful gsp's you have there.
finding a bigger tank for them will not be an issue check craigs list kijiji etc
im having an issue giving away a 150 gallon (and im giving it away.)
there awesome puffers an you will grow to love them more an more every day. taking care of them isnt something to worry about as you've found the right place to ask your questions. good luck with them whatever you decide to do.

Hey, you might also want to look into care for your goldfish. Here's some resources...

I'm sure that the pet store fed you all kinds of bull about goldfish too... They shouldn't be in an uncycled tank either, and definitely not a small one! I know it's a betta site, but those really are goldfish articles. :)
"I will give you a talisman. Whenever you are in doubt, or when the self becomes too much with you, apply the following test. Recall the face of the poorest and the weakest man whom you may have seen, and ask yourself, if the step you contemplate is going to be of any use to him or her. Will she gain anything by it? Will it restore her to a control over her own life and destiny? In other words, will it lead to freedom for the hungry and spiritually starving millions? Then you will find your doubts and your self melt away."

I agree, get a heater..... do some research.... and you might be able to keep both of them! My little GSP Gaby is so sweet, for being an adult she has only nipped my monos maybe 4 times since I got them. She just has a nice disposition. Now that doesnt mean that one day I could wake to a massacre.... but sometimes you just get lucky and you can keep two together.... THese are smart fish and have a big range of personalities..... Good luck!
