Ghost Shrimp

Post by bigfatfish »

I recently bought 10 ghost shrimps as live food for my GSPs. Initially they were crazy for them, hunting, killing, eating. A couple of weeks later, I still have 3 shrimp left. The GSPs no longer hunt them, they share food & even swim together. Is this normal? Was thinking that if I didn't feed the puffs for a few days, they would resort to hunting again - not that I mind, I quite like the little shrimps now! Just weird to see them swimming & hanging out together!

They're so cute, aren't they? I have one in quarantine right now and I just realized how much I missed watching the little goofballs.
"I will give you a talisman. Whenever you are in doubt, or when the self becomes too much with you, apply the following test. Recall the face of the poorest and the weakest man whom you may have seen, and ask yourself, if the step you contemplate is going to be of any use to him or her. Will she gain anything by it? Will it restore her to a control over her own life and destiny? In other words, will it lead to freedom for the hungry and spiritually starving millions? Then you will find your doubts and your self melt away."

Normal, but not necessarily lasting. It is actually convenient to have some "left-over" shrimp, as they scavenge the bits and shreds the larger puffer leaves behind. But they are not permanent IME. Sooner or later they are sushi..
