Very nicely done planted tanks, they set off the puffs very well. Good jobs on all three!

It takes some time, but finally is Loekie here!
What a beauty! Since the first time i looked at a pic from Marc and i was in love! When i was searching for my bigger puffer i was looking for an Abei.. but then i found Faya.. So when a few months ago i hear that Loekie looks for a new home, i immediately sent an email to Marc, that when it was oke for him, Loekie could live here!
Fortunately, he found that a good idea!

The wether in the Netherlands is horrbile on the moment. The snow is everywhere and you cant take 3 steps without making some moves it looks like you dance...but that doenst mean that i can't go for Loekie! My boyfriends car was here..and Marc had time.. so the weekend i took the car and go to Oosterhout! :D ( a verry smal place miles and miles away from my home town :P Just 60km away ;) )

What a cutie, with his red dots.. In 2 hours let her get used to the water and when i let her go all snails were immediately dead 8)
For a minute of 15 she was looking everywhere in the tank, Looking onder the wood, looking bij the guppy's, but especially hunting snails!

What a cute fast little thing! She kills snails bigger than Faya does..and Faya is more than 2 times so big.
I think when se was full she goes in the corner and it looks like she was going to look some telly :P

That good time to make some pics of her :)

The tank now.
Image
I ordered some extra plants, but the store doesn't have them for now.. I hope tomorrow i could buy some extra plants so she can hide m,ore in the left corner. ( the fake plants i could'nt see anymore..i think they are the most ugly fake plants i ever see :P )

And our cutie pie!!

My son his name is Luka, but we call him most of the time Lukie.. So he can't understand why we have a puffer with the same name. So he calls her Dotje :)
I am very VERY happy that she i fanaly here! And now hoping that she thinks that to ;)

Strange, I never noticed that... she seems to get plenty of snails to grind that down from you, I'm sure she'll be all right in no time ;)

I love the name!!! Kukah!! Everybody calls his/her fish like the way we call my son Luka! ( The son of my sister calls him kuka ;) )

I think your'e Fahaka would love some more plants. Faya loves to chill on some leafs from my plants..how more plants how more active the Fahaka should be ;)

Aw, Loekie is adorable! I know exactly what look you're talking about, the one you think is so cute - my puffers do that all the time when they're "stalking" the worm cone. And I know her tank's not done yet, but that corner looks great. You really have a talent for aquascaping.
"I will give you a talisman. Whenever you are in doubt, or when the self becomes too much with you, apply the following test. Recall the face of the poorest and the weakest man whom you may have seen, and ask yourself, if the step you contemplate is going to be of any use to him or her. Will she gain anything by it? Will it restore her to a control over her own life and destiny? In other words, will it lead to freedom for the hungry and spiritually starving millions? Then you will find your doubts and your self melt away."

hey bauk,
can you help me? i know my tank isnt properly set up for an aquascape.... i really dont know how and since im just now starting kukah's new larger home, id really love to start learning some of the most simple techniques on keeping plants alive.... could you give me a small "aquascaping for dummies" lesson... PLEASE?? ive tried reading a few articles... but some of them might as well be in another language. would you mind sharing with me how you started? i just want to be able to keep my darn plants alive.... then ill start moving on to the fancy plants on expensive drift wood and such

at this time, i just buy plants, let them live for 1 to 2 months, then go buy more.... i know my kukah likes them so i keep getting new ones.... but i want to start learning how to make a permanent set up... one that looks nice

ill check back on this posting just in case.... and thank you!

Your'e wecome!

I also think its a bit difficult how to make a nice and good home for Fahaka's. Faya doesn't like a lot of light, so she has only 2 x 18watt above her tank. so many plants do'nt last very long. I have a lot of Vallisneria Gigantea. that's a very tuff and strong nice plant. Also a lot of Cryptocorine's on the bottum. That's a nice spot for live food to hide, and that make your'e fahaka hunt more ;)
A have tried to make a cave in the corner of the tank, so she can hide if she want's. It is became her bed :)
I also have some Javafern (?) and a few other plants with round leaves.. she hangs on them when she is full :)

Iv'e only tried to watch what she likes, or what she thinks.. But buying plants is normal i think with Fahaka's.. the smaller ones wil die because of to little lights, or Faya does'nt like them and rips them out of the bottom.. And some wil die than :P

I think it's important to read the labels on the plants.. what they nead and how big the gets ;) Good luck with Kukah's tank!
