"I will give you a talisman. Whenever you are in doubt, or when the self becomes too much with you, apply the following test. Recall the face of the poorest and the weakest man whom you may have seen, and ask yourself, if the step you contemplate is going to be of any use to him or her. Will she gain anything by it? Will it restore her to a control over her own life and destiny? In other words, will it lead to freedom for the hungry and spiritually starving millions? Then you will find your doubts and your self melt away."
Thanks LGP!
I had the same reaction when I saw him at our local petstore.. she took Duke & his brothers & sisters in on a rescue.
We weren't planning on getting a puppy, but we had been thinking about it for quite some time now.
We went to the store originally to get fish food, and the lady was so kind, she gave us our fish food for free!
& She helped out with Duke alot. It's nice to have a local pet store that cares!
Local pet store? Do you think he might be from a puppy mill?

No, definately not!
I would feel terrible if he was!
The pet store rarely takes in puppies unless they can spay and neuter the parents.
& That's what happened in this case, I think the owners couldn't handle it.
They made no profit, it was a rescue, and the parents were spayed & neutered for free at Duke's new vet!
That's GREAT! What a wonderful store and vet! Our pet store takes in lots of rescues too, but unfortunately they don't spay/neuter, even though I gave them the Humane Society's flier for cheap and free spay/neuter clinics.

Yeah, I was surprised as well! They really do care. Which will definately keep us coming back to that petstore!
The owner gave us alot of free stuff, which I wasn't expecting!!
She gave us some chew toys, a bed, puppy pads (he is trained to go 1&2 on them) some treats, a Bison Knuckle which I'm not too sure about & Pigs Ears.. which I'm not too thrilled on, they're just really fatty & don't need him to choke!
Has anyone heard if Bison Knuckles are okay for puppies?? Under supervision of course.
My Puffers: Fishys: 1 x - betta fish 1 x - pictus catfish 1 x - bala shark 4 x - clown loach 1 x - butterfly pleco 1 x - bushy nose pleco 1 x - dwarf puffer 1 x - striped red eye puffer
What a cutie. I'd love to get another puppy. My house seems so empty now that my other dog had to be put down.
I think the bision knuckles should be fine as long as puppy is watched to make sure he doesn't choke. I refuse to buy pig ears for my remaning dog purely because of the smell and the one time we got her some they got all gooey and stuck to the carpet.
