Re: Fahaka Jumping?
When i walk from the one side of the tank to the other, and Faya is hungry, she always come's out of the water. Her eyes and mouth open in the air. But jumping..i've never seen that..

Re: Fahaka Jumping?
Absolutely--any puffer can & will jump w/o a cover.
You are getting sleepy... you only hear the sound of my voice... you must do water changes... water changes... water changes... water changes...

Re: Fahaka Jumping?
My husband measured him the other day and he is about 11 inches now!ACF wrote:busybones wrote:Pookie jumped the other day while I was cleaning...it scared me to death! I'm glade I had half the water out so he wasn't in much danger! I'd just die if he flopped out on the floor
How big is your fahaka? I've never seen mine jump... but he is quite big .. in the past year he's doubled in size. 5-12"

Re: Fahaka Jumping?
My adult male Fahaka came out despite a heavy glass lid - custom, not the flimsy things supplied by tank manufacturers. It was fatal of course.

Re: Fahaka Jumping?
My fahaka bangs against the cover quite often, this fish is a bit mental i think though. It does it pretty often as i am preparing to feed, he will pace the front glass frantically then BANG! smack up against the cover. It is pretty loud when it does it sometimes.
Had some friends over to watch a movie the other night and it did it while we were watching the movie, scared one of my neighbors so mutch that she jumped, was quite funny actually.
The covers on both sides have the full weight of a 72" light on them so they arent going anywhere. The middle cover has the full weight of the canopy on it so it is secure, i just hope the fish doesnt hurt itself doing it and end up more drain bamaged then it already seems to be
