Red Ram in brackish

do red rams tolerate low end salinity, 1.004 ish?

and will they continue to breed and flourish at that SG also?

I was planning on breeding platies and slightly brackish sound like the best way to go with them.

Platies may tolerate a small amount of salt but are not BW fish. Rams actually prefer soft water--the opposite of salty water.

I could have, or at least should have used their full common name which would be ramshorn snails.

I was considering raising them in BW simply because of the fact it greatly reduces the chance of disease, especially in a crowded feeder breeder tank.

Guppys does fine in a BW tank.. even in my Marine tank they lived for a few months

I am trying to maximized my production and minimize overhead in my breeder feeder tanks. I was going to go with guppies, but I figure that platies start off larger and grow larger and would be a better choice.
