Luckily I found a vivarium and another aquarium which has all necessary accessories (heater, etc) on ebay and managed to get both of them for £50. So, once I am done the move, I am going to get some filter media from the lfs that George came from and then, in a week orso, I'll get some dp's from there. Then, over time, I will get the lights, heater, etc needed for the second tank and get it ready for a larger, solitary, puffer. I am going to miss George et all like mad but at least knowing that I'm going to have some dps to keep me company and care for in the new place is something to look forward to
Yippee!!!

Well, I'm losing custody of George and the other fish, snails and shrimp in a couple of days

Re: Yippee!!!
Oh, just to clarify, the 'Yippee' is about getting the tanks off ebay for so cheap and being able to get some puffers for the new place sooner than originally expected... NOT about losing George who I am going to miss like mad.

So happy that you are a head of schedule
Make sure that if the tanks are used to fill them up with water (the best way to test them place the tanks in a bath tub B4 adding water) to see if any leaks show up.

Re: Yippee!!!
Tara .... will your boyfriend actually be able to keep the puffers? Or do you think he will end up getting rid of them, because I know that you were the one taking care of them ... so it seems odd that now he will be taking care of them.
I'm just curious, but very glad that you're moving on and getting tanks and making plans, that's the way to do it. I wish you were closer, I could help you out, even giving you some puffs to get your started!!!

Re: Yippee!!!
LOL - I'd feel like I was traumatising those fish if I was to use that toilet!!! Imagine how they'd feel when it flushes and they see the water level next to them dropping!
PPG - thank you. I'm sure he will take care of all of the fish. I've not been doing anything for the past couple of weeks so that he can get used to it and I can monitor what he's doing. To be honest, he's not been cleaning the other two tanks as often as he should but the water parameters are still okay and he is checking that. He's very good with George, cleaning out old food, etc so they will be fine.
Thank you for the offer re the fish.
Yeah, I'm looking forward to checking the tanks and making sure they're both okay before starting

At least with the toilet tank you don't have to worry about water changes.

what a great view for those goldfish....

I believe you have small mud puddles mixed up with acres of rice paddies.
