LR - how low in SG can you go?

Here's one for you marineists,

I'm stripping two marine tanks to use one each for my Celon puffers and so am moving all my LR and miracle mud to a holding tank without fish.

My question is simply how low can you go in salinity with LR? I probably won't use this with the puffers but will set up a 240l tank as marine instead, keeping the puffers at high end brackish.

Sorry about late reply, I havn't been on here much in the last week.

Sounds like my Celons would appreciate 1.018 or 1.020 sg when I can get it there. At least this sg will knock out any fw whitespot and I'm sure they'd like the caves. I've about 40kg of LR in a holding tank at the mo.

Yes, they like high end brackish, or even full marine, which is what my Ceylon is at. He's been in full marine for about 10 months now, starting out a year ago when I bought him in mid-level brackish, and if growth rate is an indicator of how happy and healthy he is, I'd say he's doing OK as he's grown from 1.5" a year ago when I bought him to just under 6" now.

Great, that means I have two options - a full marine Berlin type system with the puffs and LR/skimmer/pumps or just carry on with the biofilters/skimmer in either full marine or high brackish.

Tank up to 1.003 sg now. 1.004 possible by the weekend. Wow! (It's so low because they were in FW when I got them and used the recomended salt level while treating them for whitespot at high temp over the first month.)
