Seachem cichilid lake salt

Hi guys, need some help here..i told my LFS that i needed some salt for my puffer fish and he recommended me to get this. Im just wondering..isnt cichilids fresh water fish? i was thinking that i would require some marine salt instead to make my water brackish for my fig8s. What do you guys think?

Right! That cichlid salt just makes the water harder/gives it a higher pH. It's not actually salt. You need the same kind that you would use for a saltwater tank.

Well... it still is salt, just not the correct kind to make BW.

So the kind of salt i would need is either sea salt or marine salt right? :D

Any salt that is used for a marine tank.
