Adding new GSP to an existing GSP tank

Quick question(s).
Currently I have 3 GSP in my Brackish setup, they are between 1.75 and 2.5 inches long. They are about 2 years old. I am going to be adding another 3 GSP into the mix.

Is there anything I can do to limit the stress on the new guys?
What are the chances the original 3 will attack and maybe kill the new comers?

They have been living with some Colombian Sharks but we are trading in the Sharks for more puffers, those Sharks out grew the tank.

Each GSP will need at least 30 US gallons when full grown, so unless your tank is at least 180 gals+, you'll need a larger tank to house 6 gsp's. Even with 3, you're pushing it will anything less than 100 gals. At 2 years old, your gsp's should be larger than 1.75", which indicates to me that they're already stunted. How big is your tank?

The tank is 30 Gallons. It was actually a gift, so I am approximating the age. They maybe only 1 year old.

That tank will house only ONE gsp.

I have 1 GSP ~2" in a 30 and I'm thinking about where I'll put a 55 long for him in the next year. I view my 30 long as a minimum for a single juvenile GSP.

I agree that a 30 is a bare minimum. I feel that a 30 is the smallest that will prevent stunting-not that will be the most comfortable for your pet.

Wow...hate to rain on your parade...but please don't add any more GSP's to that tank...if possible, lighten the load and trade a couple of the GSP's in to the LFS as well.

30 gallons can house 1 GSP nicely...its the minimum required. You are just going to do further damage to your puffers if you leave that number of them in a 30 gallon tank. Stunting results in smaller, unhealthy fish that do not live long and have poor quality of life.
