I am pretty sure I know what you are gonna say but I'll ask anyway. I have 3 dwarf puffers in a 10g in my bedroom. In the living room I have a 55g tank with 2 green tiger barbs, 1 reg tiger barb, 2 dwarf gouramis (1 red, 1 blue), 1 rainbow shark, 1 dwarf pleco, 5 julii cory cats and all fake decorations. The tank has been running about a year.
My problem is that the 10g is an annoyingly loud tank. I have 2 hob filters (1 stock and 1 marineland w/biowheel). The light has a loud hum and the marineland filter vibrates mysteriously.
I would like to move the puffs to the 55g in order to cut out the noise and reduce cleaning to one tank. Is this possible?
I'm pretty sure your gonna say the puffs should be separate because they will nip others. These guys are so small though I would be worried about them. I think the other fish could easily move away from them. I don't know if the tiger barbs or rainbow shark would hurt them.
Would the puffers grow larger in the 55g tank? Are males or females the bigger of the species?
Thanks in advance for your comments.

Agreed, bad idea. With 2 established filters, you may be able to remove the annoying one, but only if your confident in your ability to handle things expertly. You could also try replacing the hood. If it's your filter that;s the main problem, you could replace this with a modest amount of money on a 10 gal. I personally like Aquaclear HOB filters.
