Yep, definitely more water changes. Believe me when I say that I understand the frustration.
"I will give you a talisman. Whenever you are in doubt, or when the self becomes too much with you, apply the following test. Recall the face of the poorest and the weakest man whom you may have seen, and ask yourself, if the step you contemplate is going to be of any use to him or her. Will she gain anything by it? Will it restore her to a control over her own life and destiny? In other words, will it lead to freedom for the hungry and spiritually starving millions? Then you will find your doubts and your self melt away."

Nitrate is between 0 and 20, Nitrite @ 0.5 to 1.0,ph 250, Alkalinity 240 to 300,Ph 8.0 to 8.4, total hardness is about 250.. Gosh I hope I am almost done doin water changes lol. But Ill keep doin em for my little puffers.

Oh I went back to wal mart yesterday in HUtchinson Kansas. And I got so damned mad, they had about 20 GSP's in the same tank. Some of em were brown and their little bellies were all sunken in. I couldnt believe it when I seen some of their skin lookin like it was actually coming off of their bodies. I wish there was something I could do to help the little guys. :(

I went to walmart two days ago. Exact same thing. 20 gsps in some crappy 5gal tank with a shared filter. A single powerhead pushed floaters around while some stuck to filter intake and other lay on the ground, gasping for air. I bet they were feeding them flakes...

You still have a lot of WC ahead... Get used to it for a while.
You are getting sleepy... you only hear the sound of my voice... you must do water changes... water changes... water changes... water changes...
