Red-eyes aren't brackish. I think they need to be separated.
How big are the tank and the airstones, and what is the pump rated for? Don't worry about too much oxygen. What might be a problem is if it creates too much turbulence.

Recall the face of the poorest and the weakest man whom you may have seen, and ask yourself, if the step you contemplate is going to be of any use to him or her. Will she gain anything by it? Will it restore her to a control over her own life and destiny? In other words, will it lead to freedom for the hungry and spiritually starving millions? Then you will find your doubts and your self melt away."

You're not the only Kentuckian/fish freak who stays up late!

It says 12:30 for me. Shall we go to the chat room to continue this discussion?

I'm moving this to Gen Disc forum, since this is about BW & FW puffers.
At this point I'd worry more about the puffers not getting along or being in the proper water conditions, than whether there are too many bubbles...
You are getting sleepy... you only hear the sound of my voice... you must do water changes... water changes... water changes... water changes...
