Yep, Indian Giant Puffer! Cool find! Has he been kept in brackish water? If not he needs to be switched....I'd love to find one of them they are really good looking puffers

I'm sure you're right. But why Ceylon? I can't see much ceylonish about it, whereas it really is similar to pics of giant spotted.

Saddles on the back with yellow in between. spots on whitish background on the side.

The T. cf. sabahensis have more hollow rings to labyrinth like reticulations, which develop from GSP like spots and small bands. ug.php/v/PufferPedia/Brackish/T_Sabahen ... 5.jpg.html

Nonetheless T. sabahensis was seen as a subspecies of T. fluviatilis in the past. So they are quite similar except the differences mentioned above and some more.

I said T.Sabahensis because of the looks and the fact that he was told it was an Indian puffer and T.Sabahensis comes from India (but hey wouldn't be the first time a LFS was incorrect about a puffer)

Well, the original T. sabahensis came from Sabah (Malaysia)...
