Seaweed

I went to the beach today, to collect snails etc for my GSPs. I also put a clump of seaweed (grassy looking type) in the tub for the journey home. As there were a few snails stuck on the seaweed I dropped it all into the tank to save picking them all off. Of course, Flash & Luigi loved the snails, but now Flash is munching on the seaweed - & defending it, so that poor Luigi doesn't get a look in! Could I regularly get fresh seaweed & give it as part of their diet?
I know the risks of disease etc from outside, but its a risk I am willing to take if it would be something they would naturally eat & they enjoy it - which they seem too!.

Yeah it would be fine. Just be sure to clean it off properly since you no the consequences. Im sure others will say no just as an extra precaution but really i would go ahead and to it.

What kind of macro(sea weed) is it? You should try and get a picture.

I only brought back a little this time, just to give the snails something to cling to on the journey. I will get more next time & take a picture - it really just looks like blades of grass - just finer & a more vibrant green.

Sounds like common eel grass. Just make sure its clean. You can probably culture it if you want. Do the plants still have the roots when you collect them?
