Well, this will probably be my last post to this site unless someone convinces me otherwise... During the night Puff daddy (my gsp) died. I would also like to warn everyone about these fake plants http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/p ... tid=19771#
It seems fat fish have a habit of getting stuck in them... Thats how puff daddy died.
If anyone has any suggestions for a puffer (fresh preferably) that could like in a 44 gal and get along with other fish lemme kno but as of right now, I'm not really feeling to heartset on another fish...
I learned alot and had fun while it lasted. Thanks for all you guys' help...

i have a plant very similar to that in both of my puffer tanks and i've never had an issue. maybe its because your puffer was bigger than mine are (my largest is maybe 2.5 inches). i'm sorry to hear about your loss. as far as keeping a freshwater puffer with other fish, your only real choices would be DPs, or SAPs, but you'd need a school of SAPs and idk if a 44 is enough for a school of them.

Awwww, it's always hard to lose a puffer, trust me, I've lost several during my time of keeping puffers, and I've wanted to give up a few times when it seemed too hard to continue .... but puffers are such a rewarding fish to keep that I just couldn't give them up.
Just to let you know, I have redeye puffers and they are actually living with other fish. Mine have not shown any real aggression other than to chase off another puffer when it comes too close to their territory. So that's an option for you. They are freshwater, and some of the males can be very beautiful. I have 4 different species of redeye, all living together and they are quite nice, of course you must have lots of plants because they like to hide amongst the plants. They also appreciate coconut shells or caves to hide in too.
