Canthigaster solandri with porcupine?

Hi,

Another newbie on the forum!
My name is Esther, from Rotterdam- Netherlands.

I 've a question about my Canthigaster solandri. She is living in a 110L (80x35x40cm) tank at the moment, with;
1 Amblygobius phalaena
1 Ecsenius stigmatura
2 Synchiropus ocellatus (couple)
1 Archaster angulatus

A friend of mine is selling her 300L (120x50x50cm) tank, and I'm wondering if I can put a baby porcupine also in the same tank. If i buy her tank, that is! My solandri is about 7cm, and I will look for a porcupine not bigger than 5-7cm.
I saw on the pufferpedia that I need at least a 450L tank just to keep a adult porcupine.. then that will be the next tank! Or what size do I need, if it's possible to keep them in de same tank?

I also like to know how fast a porcupine grows; will he grow a few cm's every month, or does it take years before they grow up? And does he really grow till 50cm, or would he stay smaller in captivity?

I have not kept marine puffers, so I'll pass the answers on to the next poster, but I have to say, what does she have in her mouth? It looks like a barnacle!

1st of all, if you resize those pics I can actually see the fish! Best no larger than 800x600.

I really wouldn't suggest keeping different species of puffers together. The porc will grow quickly & put out a lot of waste. Also, it may not get along with the other puffer.

We're getting a lot of Netherlanders here lately!

Ok.. I saw a lot of tanks on the internet (for example on you tube) who mixed ther marine puffers, so I was very curious if this combination was possible.

Oh oh.. "we" also have our own pufferforum for dutchies.. but sometimes it good to hear some different options!

This is a barnacle. They grow on just about anything they can in the sea, it seems! I remember walking along the beach as a kid, trying not to slip on the seaweed that was all over rocks that were covered with barnacles!

Please don't use Youtube as an example of how to keep fish. Anyone can post anything there & most of what I've seen that has to do with examples of fishkeeping there, is horrific!

@mrgreen: Oh, thanks! I have seen them before.. but then on mussels or on stones in the sea. I mostly remember a lot of jellyfish! (too bad on the beach )

No, ofcourse not!! Most horrible thing I saw was a fahaka, mbu, F8, and I thought it was a gsp, put in 1 tank...
But that why I ask first if it's possible.. instead of put them together and see what happens.

Haha, that will keep me busy.. but I spend a little less time with Coco now, while I'm reading here. My computer is in front of the tank, so I will be sitting next to her anyway. There isn't so much info about porcupines in dutch, and I don't want to do anything stupid.
