Aside from being prettier and having some type of monitoring system... But I don't really care what it monitors unless it's monitoring ammonia, nitrites, nitrates, salinity and temperature at all times. I'd pay 500 for something like that.

schismy007 by fluval u filters, I'm guessing u mean fluval u series filter as like fluval u4!
If I can ask u a question? What was the reason u didn't like or where not happy with
ur u series filter . I ran mine as an extra for my 75 gallon tank along with the emperor 400 before
getting my fx5 and believe me I have to say the lil u4 filter helped my tank
get clearer and stay clear , somthing my emperor wasn't doing on it's own .
Now I've heard great things about ehiem but fluval hasent let me down yet!
To be honest I'm planning on buying a extra filter for my 75 tank .... And Its either
gonna be a fluval 305 or 405 to be used as a backup and surface skimmer
ooo and I gave that Lil fluval u4 filter to my bro which is keeping chiclids in
his 20 gallon long tank and his water is always crystal clear

sorry if I made mistakes on spelling or what not but I do most of
my writing from my iPhone and I have big fingers lol

Ive seen that new fluval filter from their website and all and to be honest i wouldnt pay that price for it.

Though i cannot fault fluval U series filters or the cannisters..ive had no problem whatsoever with them and they are so easy to use and clean and so quiet too..i would reccomend them.
Eheim are very reputable and if you are going to pay for the new fluval you might as well get a top of the range ehiem one. :D
I have 2 water water pugs that own me!!
