He or she is acclaimating to the tank right now. Its a DP in a 5.5 gallon. Looks on the skinny side now that I get a closer look, but considering what happened with my other DP, I'm sure fattening will happen soon. I think Squirt is about 3 x the size of this one. Not sure if boy or girl yet. Got a cool cave decoration for cheap as someone returned a lot of stuff.
I'm going to have to watch my filter, though. The impeller likes to randomly stop! I wiped it with a cloth and now I don't have sand so I'm hoping it will give up that bad habit! Not many goodies in Squirt's filter, but I could try to add them to this one. Its a pretty good-sized sponge, though.
Sorry blurry- but here's an idea. He/she looks so TINY in the tank!

That looks like a boy - he's got the belly stripe.
Aw, cute face!
"I will give you a talisman. Whenever you are in doubt, or when the self becomes too much with you, apply the following test. Recall the face of the poorest and the weakest man whom you may have seen, and ask yourself, if the step you contemplate is going to be of any use to him or her. Will she gain anything by it? Will it restore her to a control over her own life and destiny? In other words, will it lead to freedom for the hungry and spiritually starving millions? Then you will find your doubts and your self melt away."
Good for you mrgreen, he's a cute little puff-bloke! MTS eh? Be careful what you wish for, remember that along with MTS comes MWC (multiple water changes).
My Puffers: 1 GSP (Microfiche) RIP, 1 Monotrete Turgidus (Leon) in a 30gal. 1 Monotrete suvattii in a 40 gal FW. 120 gallon BW with 3 juvenile Dragon Gobies (so cool). 55 gal with a 2" GSP named Hank. 180 gallon being set up for a Fahaka in the next few months!
Oh Boy! I can hear it now:
Mrgreen: "Hi, my name is Mrgreen and I have MTS"
The rest of TPH: "Hi Mrgreen!"
He's a good looking little guy!
"Darwin swings...annnnnnd a miss. Boy Jim, Chuck's suffered at the plate tonight. He's 0 for 3 and I'm not sure he's recovered from that shoulder pull a few weeks ago. I'll bet the front office is re-thinking that contract."
Its hard to see what size he is in the picture. I'm letting him settle and hunt some worms with the light off. I'll try to get another pic at some point soon. I used used filter media from the lfs to cycle. I'm going to keep up on the testing, though. There really isn't anything in my other DP tank I could move over, besides gravel.

He he. I know. But its a 5.5. Not hard. If I'd gotten a 30 or 55 or higher, then yeah- I'd have to do some serious meditation about water change time. Heck- it can't be as much as the every-other-day w/cs on the 30-long I just got done with.

The new tank is still not cycled. Squeak's in with Squirt in a "separation box", basically. I hope to find some Safestart this weekend so he can get out of there! Here's a pic of them near each other for comparison.

Squeak! What a great name! You have to put him in your signature now.
Edit - hey, Squeak can transmit parasites and diseases to Squirt in a breeder box like that.
