Really Cloudy Tank
Really Cloudy Tank
My 25 gallon tank started to get super cloudy about 2 days ago. I have no idea what is going on i do two 30% water changes and did one today to try to see if that would help. The tank is well established. Ammonia is 0 nitrites are 0 and nitrates are 5, everything else is fine. My puffers did kill the lobster yesterday after it molted and I'm wondering if that had something to do with it. I've been keeping aquariums for years and i'm baffled as to what is wrong.

A while ago, someone else had the same problem. It turned out that it was a bad bag of salt.

Are you using ammonia removing zeolite? That stuff will cloud your tank like crazy if it isn't rinsed extremely thoroughly.Doolan wrote:My 25 gallon tank started to get super cloudy about 2 days ago. i've never needed ammonia remover i alway over filter my tanks. Will it clear up on its own????

Possibly the start of an algae bloom, check Phos and see where it's at. Also like LGP said, could be a salt issue. Once it gets moist it has a difficult time dissolving as well and can leave some suspended particles....
