tea time

my 3 F8 puffers have settled very well - now in brackish water and swim round happily and calmly throughout the day...

but at tea time - they scogg thier bloodworm or krill or snails and then become very aggressive towards each other for about 5 mins (upsetting to watch!!!!) - is this normal?? or should i change something????

My fat heads butt into each other whenever it's feeding time; they generally calm down about 5 minutes later also. I wouldn't be too concerned unless you see bite marks.

Yes my 3 gsps do it only during feeding though the haven't bit yet but Im sure it will happen sooner or later as they grow. Right now its just like "hey man this my space and thats yours" and they chase em out but strangely at night Ive caught them all sleeping in the same cave together. lil cooties

Mine do that too! They cuddle up in this rocky cave thing that I bought them. They only do it at night though. If they're taking naps in the day, they like their separate spots.

Yea mine too same thing during the day and nightime. I hope they grow up together forever and dont kill each other

When you feed them, do you add the food all at the same location? If you do you could try adding it at three different sides of the tank. Then the trio may disperse to claim their own food stash. I have 2 F8s and one of them only has one eye. It's still a great hunter, but if the food is on it's blind side the other F8 will grab it before "Blinky" even realizes it's there. I put food in at both ends of their tank and it has helped immensely.

I do the same thing with my F8s (spread out the food), but then I've also got mollies and bbgs so I do have to spread it out so that they aren't all bunched up together.
