question about stocking my tank

oh also i keep seeing people mention vitamins?

what kind(a link to the product would be helpful) and how often and with what foods should you use them with?

so far a have been feeding him frozen marine cuisine (which has brine shrimp, mysis shrimp and some other things lol) and frozen plankton

and i have been feeding freeze fried shrimp from omega one
which he looooves eats the whole thing and it is half the size of his body lol

i will also be trying to get some muscles, scallops, and shrimp from the store and i have collected some pest snails from my work(petstore) and have them getting started in my betta tank(5g) so he will get those as well

i also have krill for an occasional treat

any other reccomendations(i have looked at the list) cant do blood worms though i am allergic lol

I think a few of our users use Seachem vitamins and Zoe Marine. I'm pretty sure they use it during every feeding, though verification would be nice.

I'm confused--you have a 30g that was cycled for several years & stocked with fish & those fish are moved into a 75g. But the puffer is in a 10g? What's in the 30g?

oops sorry i get confusing sometimes

the puffer is in the 10g being moved into the 30g today(nothing is in there now b/c i moved those fish into a 75g)

the puffer isnt in the 30g yet b/c i was just going to raise the salinity gradually fist and just drip acclimate the puffer when the sg was up to 1.006 in the 30g but have decided just to add him now anyway and have him adjust gradually

so he is going into the 30g today and i am starting to raise the salinity today by .002 so it will be 1.002 by the end of the day

How long has the 30g been empty? If more than a day or 2, then you have lost all the benefitial bacteria in there & esssencially it's not cycled anymore.

What kind of sand & how deep?

the 30g has been empty for a week now but the filters for that tank have been on the 75 to keep cycling fish water through it

i have been using an old filter on the 30g to get all the extra dusty stuff from the sand out so it didnt ruin my other filters

the sand is about 2 1/2 -3 inches deep

There ya go!

Beware--if your sand is deeper than 1", you'll be thoroughly stirring every inch/week to prevent anerobic (toxic) air pockets from forming. Why so deep? Arogonite sand is recommended as best for BW fish, to keep the pH steady, around 8.

i dont know i just like the deep look lol

well i use a gravel vaccum when i do water changes will that stir it up enough when i go through it to get any poo and extra food up or do i have to stir it additionally?

and i have aragonite and crushed coral mix(mostly fine aragonite though with a small amount of cruched coral mixed in)

You can stir it with a chopstick, that's what I use.
