he is about 5 inches long...Cleo doesn't nip or crunch on the Prochilodus, no sign of any aggression from Cleo at all.

She's gorgeous!

Watch out. As she gets older, she'll probably start wanting to nom on those tankmates.

Recall the face of the poorest and the weakest man whom you may have seen, and ask yourself, if the step you contemplate is going to be of any use to him or her. Will she gain anything by it? Will it restore her to a control over her own life and destiny? In other words, will it lead to freedom for the hungry and spiritually starving millions? Then you will find your doubts and your self melt away."

[welcome]
Nice to see another fahaka that allows tank mates. Has she ever killed/nipped any?

As far as i know she did not show any agression towards my 6 prochilodus, and the reason that i pick the prochilodus is because they are fast moving fish that would eat algea and left over at the bottom that Cleo spit out and not only that prochilodus also add great coloration to the tank too.

Change your Gravel for Sand !! Fahakas like to bury themselves right underneath the sand. Yellow Sand is good enough

I had a school of tinfoil barbs & they made my fahaka crazy! Mine never burried himself & sand that deep is a real PITA to take care of. What you really need is BRIGHT colored gravel, so everyone here can make fun of you!

FUNKY GRAVEL! FUNKY GRAVEL!

Oh, sorry, does Filbert still have his complex? ;)

Maybe a small patch of sand would be nice? Then you wouldn't have to stir a huge bed every week, just a small one. Or some very fine gravel?

I personally suggest against it for a fish that size. You're going to have to stir every inch of that sand every week, to prevent anerobic (toxic) pockets from forming.

Aren't Fei Fengs rather expensive to be used as feeders?

But seriously, keep an eye on her. Hope it works out.

Did i mentioned in the past i have kept 3 prochilodus with a 11 inches fahaka "Bella" for at least 4 yrs just fine. However, I ended up giving up my hobby because of college. Thanks for the concern I would still take a precaution each day to observe Cleo's behavior and attitude towards the prochilodus and hopefully she will get along with them. One thing that I noticed that my six Fei Feng moves together in a swarm so everytime theres food in the tank the prochilodus tend to swim really fast and knocking the fahaka puffer on the head which kinda annoying.

I have sand in my fahaka's tank. I really put too much in in it though. It stands at like 4 inches deep so like PP said it has to be stirred every week. It's a bit of a pain I'll admit. I usually use one of those mashed potatoe smashers to stir up the sand. It works pretty well.

Gorgeous puffer too and nice pics! Welcome to the forum!

I'm learning that puffer fish are like pringles. There is no such thing as only wanting one.

Tanks:
38 gallon: 1 Figure 8 puffer, 1 Dragon Goby, 1 Knight Goby, 3 Black Mollies
30 gallon: 1 Blue Acara, 1 Bristlenose Pleco
120 gallon: Ratchet the Fahaka Puffer
