I sent them a message: "Could you please tell me how a 3'4" A stellatus could fit in a 300g tank?"

And they also say that a dwarf puffer needs at least 30 gallons.

Their response:
"Thank you for contacting us. The Arothron stellatus is recommended to go into at least a 300 gallon aquarium. In the home aquarium, it rarely grows over 2 feet in length, but in the wild, it can reach 4 feet. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

If you would like more information on the Arothron stellatus, you may wish to click on the following link:

I responded back:
"Hi, I run the #1 pufferfish website in the world (http://www.thepufferforum.com). I have also written many articles for several aquarium & online magazines on pufferfish & brackishwater fish, in addition to giving advise on Wet WebMedia on pufferfish for many years & written the profiles for all the puffers in TFH's book: The Encyclopedia of Exotic Tropical Fishes.. With proper food & housing, there is absolutely no reason a captive fish should not grow as large as it's counterpart in the wild. They have no problems finding food, they have no predators & any diseases cam be immediately cared for by their keeper. Please read the profile we have on this species: ug.php/v/PufferPedia/Marine/A_Stellatus/

My recommended minimum tank size would be 1000 gallons.

I would be happy to help you with other profiles for the puffers you sell.

Go get 'em!
"I will give you a talisman. Whenever you are in doubt, or when the self becomes too much with you, apply the following test. Recall the face of the poorest and the weakest man whom you may have seen, and ask yourself, if the step you contemplate is going to be of any use to him or her. Will she gain anything by it? Will it restore her to a control over her own life and destiny? In other words, will it lead to freedom for the hungry and spiritually starving millions? Then you will find your doubts and your self melt away."

Nice Jeni!

There are a few other odd things on the site as well with regards to tank sizing. Tak the Ghost Eel for example:

Ghost Eel (Pseudechidna Brumerri)

Min. Tank size: 50gallons

Max. Size: 3' 4"

It would quite possibly be longer that the aquarium!

Sure, they're thin, but wouldn't you want some room to stretch?
