I tried to remove air from my puffer because it had a weird lump (now gone) and it started to puff so I stopped. Ever since I left it, it kept hiding. Is this normal? It was quite worrying!
What kind of weird lump? Did any air come out? you've probably scared him...he'll be ok in time. If no air came out, he wasn't puffed. Try and describe what the lump looked like.
Pami.
There was not more than about 3 bubbles coming out. When he isn't round (a day after feeding). The back of its stomach has a lump that doesn't move. I think it's still there but less. BTW how long will it take for it to be less scared.
Not sure how many. one at first I think. See how it goes.
Do they have to be in brackish?
Are they ok with tank mates?
My colomessus assellus (Finn) is Ok with mollies, swords, gobies so far(6 months)
Had a swipe at the guppy tails tho so they had to go in my other tank.
He also hunts baby fish fairly efficiently up to them being a few weeks old.
Also, did your puffer actually puff with air? If he puffed while in the water then that's perfectly natural and OK and you shouldn't really interfere with him. The lump sounds a little odd though... could you get a pictrure to demonstrate what you mean?

xautomaticflowersx, it puffed with water but it has jumped out before. I will get pictures tomorrow since it has been fed today and is not visible at the moment. Dace, F8s are brackish fish and they don't usually go with tank mates but you might luckily be able to put some bumble bee gobies. The tank size should be around 15 US gallons.
