So its me again sadly i'll need help and advice but i'll have to bother you guys =(. Anyways before i wasn't allowed to get a gsp because of their size but know it is ok. So i decided to get one but since the gsp grows into full marine should I put it in full marine first or brackish water. And second how much more money does it cost to be brackish than freshwater Including the equipments and salt, etc. THX people

Everyone here agrees: Brackish to full marine as they age. However I read something about the specific SG you need. If i remember correctly it goes something like: <2" 10.005-1.010 2-4" 1.010-1.020 4+ 1.020-1.030 (dont know exact marine SG)

GSP's can be kept into adulthood in a high end brackish system so there isn't a definite need to take them up to full marine, many keepers on here have done because GSP's will also survive in marine aquariums and seemingly do very well.

The decision to go marine will depend on whether you have a sump to contain the live rock necessary or enough space in your tank to allow for the live rock, skimmer and adequate swimming space. The decision will also be based on what you want to house your GSP with (brackish or marine creatures) and whether your lighting is strong enough to maintain corals.

I do not advocate keeping a GSP in a low brackish set-up like a figure 8 because it is not the right environment but anywhere above SG1.012 at 25 Deg C should be fine.
