any idears for a good brakish puffer to start with

ive been into puffers for awile now and own a fahaka and have had 3 saps before, i now want to start a brakish tank but ive never run 1 before and would like to ask you all for your in put on what puffer would be best to start with.
i like the look of the ceylon puffer as they get to a good size but not to big and it says they are quite active witch is a plus for me, can i keep more than 1 ceylon together in the same tank?.
any in put is more than welcome, cheers

What size tank are you thinking of? I always lean towards GSPs cos I love them! They need approx 30 us gallons each. Two could potentially live together if the tank was big enough, with plenty of hidey holes etc. They can grow to 6". Sort of similar looking to the Ceylons.

i would get what ever size tank i needed to house 2 ceylons or even 2 gsp's and do a full cycle on the tank before even getting any puffers, would ceylons swim with each other more than gsp's?.
would the gsp's have to stay at oppiset sides of the tank to live in the same aqurium?, and is so is that the same with the ceylon or would they swim together and half tolerate each other?.
also do you no what puffer is more active out of the ceylons or gsp's?.

GSPs will probably tolerate each other quite well.

GSP's when fully grown prefer very high BW to marine.

Care & parameters are identical for both (see the GSP article in our Library), except that the Ceylon grows a bit bigger so 40g ea is recommended.

If you want a puffer that will stay in brackish rather than going to full marine or high-end brackish, then a figure 8 might be a good choice. They need 15g for the first and then 10 for each afterwards. Mine is relatively laid back and shy, so he swims away rather than towards. But, he does explore the whole tank. He's in with bumblebee gobies and mollies with a SG of about 1.006. I change it gradually so that sometimes it's as low as 1.004 and as high as 1.008, but never change it more than 1.002 per week since that will kill off the bacteria.
