Filtering Substrate

I just bought a bag of aragonite for the tank. I was wondering if there is a preferred way to filter fine substrate? Such as just letting the water run over the edges of a container ect.

Ok, so I tried the running over the side thing, didnt work. somehow got soap in the tank in the process, so now im draining and refilling. besides the soap part that dosent work, as it dosent rinse well enough.

Any experienced people want to chime in? I got to add another bag next week dont want a repeat.

Rinse rinse and rinse some more. I find the easiest way is to put some in a bucket go outside and use the garden hose. Use plain water put your hand in and mix up while you are doing it.

Yea, I did that I thought I did something wrong, Because of the cloudy thing. Apparently its normal after looking into it more. completely over reacted, I drained it and refilled it (in gallons swapped), I'd say around 3-4 times. Maybe 5. So if all goes well. I got enough soap out for it not to harm anything. In terms of the amount of bubbles, Id say i got almost every bit out thank god.
