New on the forum and

Post by Florence »

Hi I am new to this forum, I have been following the forum for a while now in silence.

I have one puffer now, that is doing great. She is a Canthigaster margaritatus. She is in my 75 g. tank now. I am in the process to set up a Puffer friendly tank, but was wondering if I could have more than one puffer in that tank and which Canthigaster that could co-exit in the same 75g. tank?

She look like that, when I got her, but she is more healthy to look at to day, more clear in colour and more belly, that when I got her, I will take new pictures of her. Is it a Canthigaster margaritatus? That was what I bought her as.

I believe this is rather a Canthigaster papua. Canthigaster margaritata (http://www.fishbase.gr/Photos/PicturesS ... s&TotRec=5) has a longer and more straight snout and usually less lines on its back.

Anyway the C. papua, C. solandri and C. papua may be something like subspecies or regional varieties.
