I buy a lb every 1-2 weeks. I keep them in a Coolwhip container with holes on top. Just enough water to keep them wet. Too much & they'll drown. I add liquid vitamens to them & feed them ground plankton. Rinse well in a brine shrimp net under cold water before feeding out & discard any dead ones at the bottom of the container.

Right now, mine are in a 1/2g with substrate to hide in and an inch of water. They get frequent water changes and the occasional veggie. I wish I had the big container with the huge footprint, but it ain't happening in a dorm. I'm experimenting with different techniques, but supplies are limited.

Is that 1" of water from the bottom or an inch covering the worms? How many other college students to you think keep worms in their fridge?

One inch over the top of the gravel. They're actually not in the fridge. I just keep them on the dresser by the puffer tank. I'm going to have to remember to bring home more veggies from the caf for them... Still, how many college students do you think keep worms on their dresser?

When I was at home for the summer, I had them in the fridge for a long time, and my mom and sisters made me put the container in a paper bag so they didn't have to look at them.

Why not keep them in your fridge? They prefer the cold & last a ton longer.

Oh, they like the cold? I thought it was just to slow their metabolisms! Well if they like it, then in they go!

Edit - they don't fit! I'll mess with it later. Ugh.
