The pictures are poor quality. The only digital camera I have is in my Palm Zire 72, but it shows Baby's stripes, not spots. That's what you couldn't see from just blowing up my avatar. He wouldn't give me a good profile and then hold still. My camera is pretty slow-gives you blurred images when he moves at all.

lisalisa, I saw some picts of a Fahaka on the net. Yea, from my avatar they look similar. Freshwater puffers sound like a lot of fun. Wish I had known more about freshwater puffers before I started my salt tank this time around. I wouldn't trade my puffer for any pet in the world now, but it would have been nice to know how fun they are before I invested so much money in salt again.Yes, a Fahaka is freshwater...your pic looks a bit like my fahaka!
I just moved back from Thailand where I kept octos and corals in one 125 gal and just about everything else I could find in another 125. You only keep one octo at a time, but they're wild caught and don't live more than 8-9 months usually, thus octos over time.
Strangely enough, I originally bought my puffer to keep me company for 3-4 months while I aged the tank for a cuttlefish. The puffer was so much fun I decided to keep him.
How about yours? What's it's personality like?

Do you have any room for furniture in your house? My goodness that's quite a few. Sounds like a happy family.Ever see you puffers close their eyes? Or hear them vocalize? Just read that they can blink and vocalize on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arothron

Take it the spitting when you are about to feed them doesn't count? Heard the grunt, sounds almost like a snort/super small sneeze....
Only time I saw my puffers close their eyes was when one bumped into some rock trying to fit himself into a spot his "jaba the hutt" physique didn't really allow going after some mysis...
As for furniture....my sunroom (tile floor) is a fish sanctuary (tanks on the walls/border)...just put a comfy chair in the middle, turn off the lights, zone out.... As long as you can fit in the middle and still do water changes you should be good...j/k

I only saw mine close his eyes when he yawned while I took his picture for my avatar.
