Well I have sourced and two little GSPs may be making their way home with me on Saturday. The store has been bringing them back to health (all 20 of them) and just want one more week to keep eye on them, if all is well then yay!
Here is a pic of the tank:
I do know it needs a lot more guys, especially taller plants. Help me stock a little more, so far there is mostly plastic plants, have two anubias ready to attach to the bogwood in there. Have coral sand and some shells as well as the fake tree trunk. In terms of tall plants, I have found giant javas whic may work though worried may not get enough support. Or getting slim lengths of bogwood or mopani and tying on java ferns up the lengths to help pad out more. Also plan on getting a small cave of sort.
Please let me know what you think
Tank is looking good, and your plans for it sound even better.
It sounds like your store really cares about its stock.
"I will give you a talisman. Whenever you are in doubt, or when the self becomes too much with you, apply the following test. Recall the face of the poorest and the weakest man whom you may have seen, and ask yourself, if the step you contemplate is going to be of any use to him or her. Will she gain anything by it? Will it restore her to a control over her own life and destiny? In other words, will it lead to freedom for the hungry and spiritually starving millions? Then you will find your doubts and your self melt away."
Yeah they do! I was speaking with teh guy who has been looking after them, I think they had...oh my memory..was it white spot? He has been giving them all individual baths to get them back to health. Except one which was being bullied, they were all zipping about with fat really wonderfully white bellies. No black or grey in sight! He said he wanted to keep them during this week just tocheck and then hopefully on for the weekend. They will be getting phone call on Friday for sure! He was delighted that I had done my research and had a species tank for them as he was tired of turning away people that wanted them for communities and fresh water permanent ones at that. They are in freshwater right now, but he reassured that they really need to be brackish. So Will get them and raise salinity slowly over time
Really excited (probably can tell) sorry to go on! They had anubias and javas (currently out of javas) 5 for £10 which seemed a good deal.
Yes, that's a really good deal. And what a nice man! Individual baths! What store is this? I'm gonna have to pay a visit next year (cross fingers, I wanna get into the Oxford Program so bad!).

Maindenhead, I've heard of that place! It's supposed to be great.

Ihave to say it is one of the nicer stores I have been to, it is much further out but you know it is good when my Dad who took me commented how much nicer it was (his usual response is "its just fish") but he actually enjoyed himself in this one and wanted to bring mum when we collect them hopefully!
p.s. Oxford UK? WOW!
I have some limited funds till payday on the 15th and need little advice.
Or a local store has full grown giant javas for £6.05 each, javas 5 stems for £2.80, bogwood with java for £6.50 and bogwood 10" for £3.50..hmm need to think
Sorry to ask guys, but really appreciate any tips

Oxford would just be for one semester. I'd be at the Regent's Park college, hopefully studying Shakespeare.

Yeah Maidenhead Aquatics do seem to be good. Both my puffs have come from the one in Sion Park. They keep them in a brackish section and catch all the fish using the bag rather than using a net. My GSP was housed on his own and his fins were imaculate, no nips at all. The guy even knew what his favourite food was (clam) and gave me a small bag of them.
This Maidenhead is fairly new to them as the store is relatively new,but glad the manager knows what talking about, must remember to ask about what they have been feeding them! Oh wow LilGreenPuffer! Please feel free to come see me, I am Southern it would be a fair trip but we do have a cute oceanarium on the seafront with quite few puffs and life. I can also offer English tea and crumpets
That Sion Park Maidenhead chubber sounds fantastic!
I will totally come by. I plan to do a lot of "fair trips" on my weekends once I'm there.
