Forget the morish idol. Extremely difficult to feedd & keep in captivity. Triggers can ger very aggressive & the clown gets HUGE! "Common" clowns (Nemos or false perculas) are too delicate for GSPs, IMO. Back the the drawing board!

I was going to say the same thing PP.

Moorish Idols require an aquarium with a LOT of room to swim as well as a very detailed aquarium to explore and engage in exploring. Usually it requires a 300g + tank, but usually does not do well period.

the clown gets HUGE!
I've been researcing false percs myself and read that their max size is 4" with captive bred ones rarely exceeding 2.5". Have I been reading duff info?

A maroon clown. It'll hold its own against the GSPs.
"I will give you a talisman. Whenever you are in doubt, or when the self becomes too much with you, apply the following test. Recall the face of the poorest and the weakest man whom you may have seen, and ask yourself, if the step you contemplate is going to be of any use to him or her. Will she gain anything by it? Will it restore her to a control over her own life and destiny? In other words, will it lead to freedom for the hungry and spiritually starving millions? Then you will find your doubts and your self melt away."

Oops, I menat tthat trigger gets large, not the clown 9I was thinking of a Clown trigger). Maroon clowns are the meanest of all clownfish. Chewed the tails of byth my GSPs down to nubs, within 2 days. Tomatoes are much nicer & can definately handle a GSP.

See, you've got a fish that will work! :D

An anemone is a negative for a year at least. They're only for very experienced SW aquarists, and only for an established tank (very, very sensitive to water quality), and they require very strong lighting. Clowns don't need anemones to be happy.

Yeah, I don't plan to get one for years. I'll start with easy corals and work my way up to the more difficult inverts. Your tank is plenty big enough to have one someday, though.

Don't mix clown species. Also, I added a pair of juvie false percs to my 2 adult GSPs & there was only 1 clwon in there the next morning so the other one went back. I got a Maroon clown & he chewed up the puffer's tail's. Returned that for a tomato & they lived happily ever after. You could go with other fast-moving tough fish, like damselfish. Yellowtails (beautiful blue bodies) are nice fish, would look great next to the puffers & look fantastic in a school.

for a porcupine i am planning to get in the near future!

so, if you dont mind me stirring up the sand a little bit lol
i was thinking about a similar selection with the porcupine,

but you said the moorish idol is still too hard to keep, why is that if you dont mind me asking, im going to do some research too

but what if i just do 2 clowns (wat kinds do you think lmao)
and something else lol
but i promised my friend i would try and get a clown and from what i read it is fesible*
