Green Spotted Puffers With Snowflake Moray Eel?

Post by xmikebrock »

i was doing some research and watching some videos
and the snowflake will eat smaller fish. right?
but if i get a small enough eel and let it grow in the tank. should there be a problem?
if the eel or any kind of fish for that matter grows with the same fish in the tank, isnt it less of a chance they will bully each other?

How large is the tank? Snowflakes are crustaceon eaters, generally they don't eat fish but they grow quite large & as thick as your wrist. They create a HUGE amount of bioload too.

I've seen it done before in videos, but I personally wouldn't recomend it w/o a big tank.

Snowflake eels change their gender from female to male. The males get longer, pointed teeth with serrated edges, perfect for catching fish.

Yes, true.

The cases in which Zebra morays have bitten or eaten other fish are very, very rare. Zebra morays are generally the best moray eels for tanks with smaller, harmless fishes.

They can eat all sorts of crustaceans, have rarely consumed bivalves and sea urchins. Corals and fish, however, should be safe.

I wouldn't add any LR in SG <1.018.

Because there are creatures & bacteria that need SW to survive. If the SG is too low, they will die, causing such an ammonia spike, it will wipe out everything in your tank. Also, you can only use LR from a long-established system (not the LFS), if you're adding it to a tank with fish. Even the trip out of the ocean & to your LFS will cause a great deal of die-off & no matter how much they say it's cured--it's not!
