picky eaters GSP

Post by bigfatpuffer »

i got 3 picky eaters!!
they r GSP about 1.5 inches.
i know they need a variety of food, so i tried a bunch of frozen, live, frozen-dried, etc etc
but they only seems to like the freeze-dried red shrimp and krill and the frozen krill.
they didn't really like the other stuff.
bloodworms, brine shrimp, mussels, live clams, ghost shrimp, they all just take a bite of it and swim away!
only the red shrimp and krill they will finish till they get a round belly.
but i was reading in some posts it mentioned that krill should be only offered one in a while,
is freeze-dried red shrimp the same thing? is it gonna be a problem in long run?

2/3 of my GSP like snails, but i would need a tons to feed them so they r full right? as the snails r like tiny?
any suggestions?

I feed my little guy sun-dried baby shrimp- and he also eats them all till he is round-bellied! And tomorrow I am going to get some ghost crayfish (see-thru) and see how much he likes hunting his food, instead of chasing it from the current of the filter! XD
Also check out this article that I have found VERY helpful. It is an extensive and thorough article on their feeding and care-etc.!

Don't forget to quarantine live for for at least a week. :) There's an excellent feeding and diet article in the Library on this site.

And that article is by Pufferpunk. No wonder it's accurate. :D

bigfatpuffer, why don't you try some larger snails, or waiting until the small ones grow?
"I will give you a talisman. Whenever you are in doubt, or when the self becomes too much with you, apply the following test. Recall the face of the poorest and the weakest man whom you may have seen, and ask yourself, if the step you contemplate is going to be of any use to him or her. Will she gain anything by it? Will it restore her to a control over her own life and destiny? In other words, will it lead to freedom for the hungry and spiritually starving millions? Then you will find your doubts and your self melt away."
