Added more pants for my F8's
Just a few pix. One, however, is always exploring and the other just hangs out and only explores rarely. I hope its a personality thing. Seems helathy otherwise.

Reading the title I thought you had chucked some boxer shorts into the tank.

Me, too!
The tank's looking great.

"I will give you a talisman. Whenever you are in doubt, or when the self becomes too much with you, apply the following test. Recall the face of the poorest and the weakest man whom you may have seen, and ask yourself, if the step you contemplate is going to be of any use to him or her. Will she gain anything by it? Will it restore her to a control over her own life and destiny? In other words, will it lead to freedom for the hungry and spiritually starving millions? Then you will find your doubts and your self melt away."

I got a proper-sized syphon today, too. I need to tape the background on, too.

What's the plant directly in the center with a satellite plant off to it's right? That is very interesting looking. Is it truly aquatic? I think plants can make all the difference in a tank, and to the fish of course.
I like the way you've got that tank set up.

Oh wow. I think your tank looks great! Do your puffers actually use the habitrail tubes you have in there? I was thinking on adding some to my tank but couldn't decide whether or not my fig 8 would actually use it.

I'm learning that puffer fish are like pringles. There is no such thing as only wanting one.

Nice pants! I wouldn't expect them to live long though in the SG necessary for F8s.

Re: Added more pants for my F8's
They are losing needles/leaves.
I want a plant that can survive brackish water. I was told that these were hardy.
actually, qtrhorse, I just saw Nine-Ball in the habitrail tube and then swim out.
I thought it would just be something to explore. But that is the first time I'd seen one of them in there- they seemed afraid of it for days. Then again, that could just be the first time I'd seen one do it.

That's to bad. I've heard java moss can survive in brackish conditions. Then you can make a java moss tree! Yipee!

Think that might be a Java fern.schismy007 wrote:What's the plant directly in the center with a satellite plant off to it's right? That is very interesting looking. Is it truly aquatic? I think plants can make all the difference in a tank, and to the fish of course.

Re: Added more pants for my F8's
I just added two java ferns and a mangrove to my BW 40g biotope, but i'm new to plants and since these are supposedly very hardy ill stick with that until I get the hang of it.
I heard those moss balls will work in BW but I'm afraid to try it.

Re: Added more pants for my F8's
The moss ball is doing just fine! The new plants I put in - the tall ones with straight leaves- are shedding like crazy. They are getting all stuck up against the filter intake and I keep having to remove them. The puffers do like their bulk to hide in/under, though.

Re: Added more pants for my F8's
I've heard of several folks using Habitrail tubes for their smaller puffers.
